The surgery itself was very standard. Which was great news to hear!!! Our doctors said they don't see anything on her esophagus or intestines leading them to think anything other than a really bad case of reflux is going on. Praise God!! Lance and I really didn't think she was dealing with anything other than that to begin with, but deeply appreciate our teams assertiveness to help Faith, and eliminate possibilities!!

Once Faith came out of surgery she was a very angry little girl. Her and anesthesia do NOT get along well...she goes crazy!! At one point, they brought over restraints to hold her down. She hated the PH Probe, and continued to attempt to rip it out and was slapping anyone who came near her. Completely unlike Faith in every way.

Once we got to our room our nurse was a little scared of Faith. I don't think she really believed me that Faith wasn't typically a crazy kid and that she was just recovering from the surgery. But overtime Faith snapped out of it, and it became clear to her it really was the drugs. She said she'd never seen a kid respond to anesthesia like that....but Faith always does. She is very sensitive to drugs...much like her mom ;)

From there things were great. I packed a suitcase full of markers, puzzles, color pages, books and games. Faith loves to color, draw and puzzles so I knew enough distraction would help avoid the feeling she had of the tube in her nose :)

That night they ended up doing the sleep study after all. I was so surprised and SO thankful our team was able to get the surgery, the PH Probe placed AND a sleep study done in 1 overnight admission. Great use of time!! ;)

Faith was a HOT MESS at night but we managed through it and were discharged the next morning!!

We meet with the pulmonary and GI team in two weeks to discuss the biopsy results and start talking about what happens next.
We rejoice they didn't find anything ugly inside her and hopefully helping her just may be a change in some dietary needs. She is already received the maximum amount of medication she can receive for the pain and burning associated with this.
Thank you for praying for our baby girl...it means so much to us!!!!
